    • All-Northwest Orchestra: 1 Viola and 2 Cellos.

  • Sinfonia – Second Place with Gold Rating
  • Sinfonia and Chamber Orchestra – Invitation to “Festival of Gold” – Groups with 90 or more points out of 100.
  • Chamber Orchestra - “Adjudicator Award” – Group with 92 points or more out of 100. Chamber Orchestra received an average of about 94.7 points. Eight were awarded out of 41 groups.
  • Chamber Orchestra - “Outstanding Orchestra Group” – Highest Orchestra Score for the event. (Average of 94.7 points)
  • Nine Bellevue High School participants in the Washington Music Educators’ Association All-State (February 12-14, 2016) 
    • All-State Chamber Orchestra: 4 Violins and 1 Viola.

  • Concert Orchestra received a Gold Performance Award and Trophy

 

Eastshore Region Orchestra Festival (March 13, 2014)

  • Received superior ratings for both Sinfonia and Concert Orchestras

 

Five participants in the Washington Music Educators’ Association All-State Groups (February 16, 2014)

  • All-State Chamber Orchestra – 1 Violist
  • All-State Symphony Orchestra -  2 Violinists, 1 Violist, 1 Cellist
  • BHS students held the Concert Master and Principal Violist positions in the 2014 All-State Symphony Orchestra.

 

State Solo and Ensemble Contest

·         2014 One student earns 1st place at region with two 1st alternates in small ensemble and violin.  One student earned 2ndplace at State.  String quartet/harp receives superior rating at State.

·         2013 Four Students earn 1st place at region.  One student earns first at State.

·         2012 Three students earn 1st place at region.  One student earns second at State.

  • Two groups existed: Sinfonia (10-12 audition), Concert Orchestra (9-12 open)
  • No Chamber Orchestra existed; Sinfonia was considered the top group.

Sept. 2015 – June 2017

  • Concert Orchestra was added: Chamber Orchestra (10-12 audition), Sinfonia (10-12 open), Concert Orchestra (9)
  • Sinfonia’s name was changed to Chamber Orchestra and Concert Orchestra was changed to Sinfonia. Concert Orchestra was turned into a Freshman Only class to align with other high school orchestras in the district to avoid confusion when a student changes schools.

Sept. 2017-June 2018

  • Reduced to two classes. Concert Orchestra was combined with Sinfonia due to less available FTE: Chamber Orchestra (10-12 audition) and Sinfonia (9-12 open)

Sept. 2018-2019

  • Three groups exist: Chamber Orchestra (10-12 audition), Sinfonia (10-12 open), Concert Orchestra (9)
